As students, we always wonder what the best time to study is. Some of us say during the day is better, while some of us prefer to study at night.
But what time is actually best?

Working during the day is a part of our natural cycle.
Natural sunlight is far better than artificial light. In fact, doctors say that the less artificial light we are exposed to the better.
We are refreshed from a good night’s sleep.
Energized from a balanced breakfast.
The world operates during “business hours” which is between 8 am to 5 pm system, and so does public libraries. Some might go up to 10 but that is when you might just getting into the groove of studying.
It is easier to communicate with other people, including teachers and classmates.

During the night is when you will find it to be the quietest and peaceful.
Not many persons will be up to distract you i.e. texting and calling.
You tend to see things differently at night, so much so that most songwriters choose to work during the night because their mind is free to wander.
Better retention of information. Studying at night before you sleep helps you to remember the information you studied.
There are fewer activities to be done during the night i.e. household chores.
You can study with any time restrictions such as having to go to class between study sessions.

Put your phone on do not disturb mode during study sessions.
Do not multitask, try to only focus on studying.
If you are going to study during the day then ensure you get at least eight hours of rest during the night.
Use study groups but not more than five persons per group.

Ensure to establish a study routine and stick to it.
Time management is key when studying during the night it easy to lose track of time. So take your necessary breaks and keep hydrated.
Get adequate rest. Not because you are studying during the night means you should lack sleep, ensure to set aside time in the day to get your rest.
Make sure you have good lighting as this can become a serious problem in the future. Desk light is not good enough, opt for a brightly lit room.

My answer is, it depends. I know that is not the answer you were looking for but the fact of the matter is everyone is different and there is no clear cut answer. However, what you can do is, look at both and compare them. Then select the one that is more beneficial to you.
